Holiday in La Val, hiking village

In the town of la Val main activities are represented by artisanal handicraft and agriculture

La Val, with its 1.300 inhabitants, is a town where many typical aspects of Ladin valleys remained intact, as the “viles”, the traditional rural villages of Ladin farmers. The town is renowned still today for its excellent artisans and the farmer life that continues to transmit ancient traditions.
The town is situated between the two touristic areas of Plan de Corones / Kronplatz and Alta Badia, both known for their numerous touristic structures and holiday offers. From our town it’s possible to reach, in a short time, the natural park of Fanes-Senes-Braies, recognized as world natural heritage by Unesco.
Enchanting places as the meadows of Armentara, the Ju de Sant Antone, Fanes, the Rit mountain, Pares and the majestic Sas dla Crusc (Sasso Croce) will let you spend unforgettable holidays.

We recommend a visit to the charming little church of Santa Barbara, located on a steep little hill that looks down on the underlying town of La Val, and a walk to the hospice/refuge of Santa Croce, situated directly under the face of the Sas dla Crusc. This place represents the destination of many tourists in Val Badia and is located in a wonderful area, offering a unique panoramic view over the Dolomites.
